Prime Steakhouse - Best High End Restaurant In Medan


Prime Steakhouse yang terletak di Hotel JW Marriott Medan, merupakan salah satu Best High End Restaurant di Medan. Mengusung konsep semi fine-dining, Prime hadir dengan interior yang mewah dan classic. Tatanan meja dan kursi membuat ruangan lantai 2 menjadi spasious dan nyaman.

Wine Cellar
Di sisi dinding, terpampang berbagai jenis koleksi wine yang dapat anda pilih dan langsung di nikmati di tempat.

Large Dining Table
Untuk menikmati dining dengan keluarga ataupun hanya sekedar kumpul dengan teman, Prime juga menyediakan large dining table yang spasious.

Open Kitchen
Di seberang meja dan kursi, ada open kitchen yang menampilkan cooking demo di depan pengunjung. Disana makanan di masak dan di prepare.

Table Set Up
Akhirnya kami diarahkan untuk duduk di meja dekat wine cellar. Seperti foto diatas, setiap meja telah di set up sedemikian rupa mengingat konsep yang di usung adalah semi fine - dining. Setelah kita duduk, waiter/ss pun membuka napkin dan meletakkannya di atas paha kita. Kemudian kita pun disuguhkan menu untuk memesan.


Sembari menunggu makanan kita keluar, Prime memberikan kita berbagai jenis bread. Kami paling suka dengan round bread nya kemudian dioles mentega.


Amuse Bouche
Makanan pun keluar satu persatu. Dimulai dari Amuse Bouche, daging sapi yang dibalut dengan quail egg, kemudian diberi apple jelly sauce, the taste is just amazing.


Fettucini Bolognese
Well, untuk menu yang satu ini enak, namun tidak ada yang special. Kombinasi saus bolognese nya match dengan pastanya, dan minced beef.


Spaghetti or Angel Hair Aglio e Olio
Menu yang satu ini di served menggunakan sedikit cabai, bawang putih, udang, calamari, mussel, dan tomato confit. Menurut kami, untuk rasanya sedikit plain. It doesn't get along with our taste.


Grilled Half Spring Chicken
Enough with pasta, sekarang kita mulai dengan steak. Grilled Half Spring Chicken, merupakan salah satu menu baru yang dihadirkan oleh Chef Amin Gihon. Menu tersebut dilengkapi dengan saute spinach, dan ditaburi dengan mushroom sauce. Ayam yang sudah tanpa tulang tersebut di grilled dengan sangat sempurna. Menu ini menjadi salah satu favorit kami disini.


Australian Grainfed Black Angus
Nah, menu beef kali ini menjadi highlight dari kunjungan kami ke Prime. Tenderloin beef nya di served menggunakan saffroan foam dan red wine sauce. Dengan tingkat kematangan medium well, begitu dagingnya masuk kemulut, rasanya sangat tender dan juicy. Salah satu menu yang dapat kami recommend disamping Grilled Half Spring Chicken.

Sambil kita menikmati makan malam, kita dihibur oleh acoustic live band yang hadir setiap hari Jumat - Sabtu mulai jam 19.00 - 22.00 WIB.

Kamakura Cafe - Jakarta




During my visit to Jakarta on February 2017, I did manage to visit a neighbourhood Kamakura café, located in one of the hippest dining destinations in Jakarta, Pantai Indah Kapuk.
Kamakura was set in a simple, clean and minimalist manner, the neatly displayed magazines and the electric sockets at the tables were plus points!
Kamakura is currently under renovation, they're still building, decorating and adding details to the interior.

Assorted Appetizers 3 varieties ( IDR 73k )
I'm quite lucky because during my visit, they're launching their new and fresh menu. At Kamakura Cafe, they always served the best they can. Generous portion for the appetizer. Taste wise and a good choice for a start up.


Carbonara Kamakura Style ( IDR 73k )
In here, you can choose your pasta style; S size ( 50 g ), M size ( 70 g ), L size ( 100 g ) or XL size (120 g).
The carbonara topped with crispy bacon, onions and some vegetables. It didn't go soggy at all like some other pasta, it was nicely al dente and held the sauce well.


Soft Shell Crab ( IDR 88k )
Use one whole crab for this portion, reasonably priced! The crab was some of the best I've ever tried. Perfectly steamed by Kamakura.


Genovese with Mix Seafood ( IDR 98k )
Topping shrimp, squid, shellfish, and many more make this plate a heaven of seafood. The seafood was so fresh, big yet tasty.

The service was totally awesome. Cozy and a good place for hanging out with friends or family. And yes, they also launched a various type of new dessert menu. Go try them!

Tim Ho Wan - Bangkok

Even though this place may seem a bit pricey and not much variety compared to other Dim Sum places, I'd say this place is worth it. Tim Ho Wan would eventually earn a Michelin star of its own in the 2010 Hong Kong and Macau Guide, a distinction which some have stated was a move in response to the criticism that the Michelin Guide was "elitist" and "out of touch with local tastes. In 2015, its Sham Shui Po, North Point and Tai Kok Tsui branches had all received one Michelin star. Since then, the restaurant has been dubbed as "the world's cheapest Michelin-star restaurant".    

Finally we got to try one of their branches in Bangkok, Thailand. Located at Terminal 21, Tim Ho Wan arrived in Bangkok in August 2015. The restaurant setup was very clean and up to date fixtures. The menu all had pictures so you know exactly what you are ordering. Their dimsum highlight such as:

Baked Bun with BBQ Pork
They are soft but crispy on the outside; tearing it open releases a tiny flood of sauce and a gush of mouth-watering fragrance. Within the sauce swims soft and savoury pieces of barbecued pork. Sinking your teeth into anyone of them and you will find yourself asking for more.       

Beancurd Skin with Pork and Shrimp
This dish will first welcome you with its nice chewy skin. And when you get through that flavoursome skin, you reach the juicy pork & shrimp on the inside. A flavourful and juicy dish.    


Vermicelli Roll with BBQ Pork



Classics that taste great with the quality ingredients and culinary skills that Tim Ho Wan has to offer. A must order dimsum here.

Smooth and silky porridge served with pork, century and salted egg,







Steam Spinach Dumpling





A see through clear skin into the greenery inside is something that will catch your attention. A bite into these dumplings will reveal the crunchy prawn fillings and a taste of the healthy greens inside.

Braised Chicken Feet








A dish that will keep your mouth busy and leave your tastebuds enjoying the sweet flavours of abalone in the chicken feet. Stewed to achieve that flavoufull taste in every bite.


I'm very satisfied with their dimsum and great service. Tim Ho Wan has officially become my favorite dimsum restaurant chain.
